Finished The School Gates by Nicola May and i have to say i also loved this.
Nicola Mays writing style is very similar to Sophie Kings. Very similar, it was like reading a Sophie King book, the layouts are so alike.
No surprise that i really enjoyed this too.
It centres around the school gates, the parents picking up their kids and the life they lead without others knowing.
What i found really interesting about this book, which i didn’t think about until after i’d finished was that the characters didn’t end up being who i thought they were.
I suppose that could be a life lesson, that people aren’t always what they seem.
It was very cleverly done.
I’m certainly going to be reading more Nicola May books. I already have Star Fish and Working it out downloaded.
Next though is The love if my life by Louise Douglas.
Today i have had Boy10 at home from school ill.
He’s ok just worn out with a fever, he’s going back tomorrow.
I tried Sox’s new lead this morning.
The moorland fields we walk through have sheep in at the moment and ground nesting birds.
A sign has appeared on the gates asking dogs to be kept on leads.
We bought him a retractable one at the weekend. He can go 16ft/5m away from me but i still have control over him.
I love it, MrK hates it.
Thanks for reading.
